STSM with the Land Surface Science Group at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in Wallingford, UK & the Climate Impacts Group at the Met Office in Exeter, UK

PhD Candidate Athanasios Tsilimigkras from the Technical University of Crete (TUC) spent three weeks with the Land Surface Science Group at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH) and one week with the Climate Impacts Group at the Met Office working on improving the JULES land surface model’s river routing scheme at the global scale.

PROCLIAS-ISIMIP water quality workshop

Finally, a new water quality sector is in the plan for the Intersectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP). Following this new effort, several activities were organized within the framework of the COST Action PROCLIAS. Between the 30th and 31st of August roughly 50 participants (40 on-site and around 10 online), met at the Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands.

Virtual Mobility Grant – Coordinating efforts to create kilometer scale climate forcing data for impact models

During summer 2021, Senior researcher Dirk Karger from the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL, used a virtual mobility grant is to coordinate efforts in providing standardized, kilometer scale climate data for use in impact studies within the ISIMIP framework with the Potsdam Institute for Climate Change Impact Studies (PIK). During the 3-month duration of the VM Grant, we implemented several parts of this effort.
